AMD GPUs to Power Next Generation Samsung Mid-Range Phones

amd exynos

Samsung just released the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC-powered Samsung Galaxy S23 series in February 2023. The Exynos processor, which AMD and Samsung jointly developed, powered the Galaxy S22, the series before it. According to current web rumors, Samsung will probably add AMD GPU support to their midrange Exynos chips in 2024.

The business wants to include mRDNA-based GPUs in its mid-range Exynos 1430 and Exynos 1480 processors, which are anticipated to be unveiled next year, according to a recent article by Revegnus. The Exynos 2200 processor, which also employs an mRDNA-based GPU, did incredibly well, getting 170.7 frames per second in the Manhattan 3.1 test compared to Apple's A14 Bionic chip's 120 frames per second.

But it's been made plain in the article that you shouldn't anticipate a lot of gaming performance from this CPU. According to Revegnus, "this processor will be more focused on ISP rather than gaming," implying that the Exynos 1430 and Exynos 1480 may offer a better picture-capturing experience.

Samsung has announced that the Samsung W series launch conference will take place on September 15. This event will likely mark the introduction of the Samsung W24 and W24 Flip. Check out our Samsung W series debut date story if you're interested in learning more.
