Galaxy S24 Series to Feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 with 1 GHz GPU
Ice Universe claims that Samsung's 2024 flagship smartphones will come with an additional modified Snapdragon 835 processor. That means an overclocked Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy will power the Galaxy S24 series as well as the Flip6 and Fold6.
According to the source, the chipset will include an Adreno 750 GPU that operates at 1,000 MHz. To put that in perspective, the Adreno 740 on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy, which was found within the Galaxy S23 series, has a max output of 719 MHz. That's a clock speed increase of 28%.
Since Qualcomm hasn't yet verified the clock speed of the standard Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 GPU, we're not sure if the Galaxy-exclusive model offers an improvement there or if the CPU will receive a bump instead.
The Galaxy S24 family will see a split, with some models receiving the Exynos 2400 and others the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. According to the most recent speculations, the Exynos 2400 will power the S24 and S24+ in Europe and South Korea, while the Snapdragon is expected to power the Galaxy S24 Ultra worldwide and the other two phones in certain areas.
