Google Camera app gets biggest update in years for Pixel 8
Screenshots of the new Google Camera UI makeover, which will probably be shown this autumn with the incoming Pixel 8 series, were revealed by a source connected to Android Authority. It would be fascinating to see what Google has in store for Pixel users since the last significant design update occurred in 2019.
The distinction between the Photo and Video modes is the first thing that stands out. You may select whether you want to snap a still photo or record a video using a separate toggle at the very bottom of the program. Then and only then can you select the appropriate mode from the carousel. The Rolodex used to be blended with all modes.
The last photo preview (also a shortcut to the Gallery) and the button to switch between the rear and front cameras have been switched. Although it now aligns with the majority of Android camera applications from other manufacturers, Pixel owners will need some time to get used to it.
If you slide up from the bottom of the viewfinder, the extra options menu appears, but it doesn't seem to be within your thumb's reach if you are using the larger Pro model.
Last but not least, Google has reorganized some of the camera modes and adjusted the order of others. Perhaps Google wants to entice users to utilize some of the modes, like Long Exposure and Action Pan, more frequently.
Also, Google is developing Staggered HDR, a new feature that will hasten capture time and reduce artifacts. The periods between frames are decreased to enhance efficiency. The software can dynamically modify the flash intensity based on the lighting conditions thanks to the Adaptive Torch function. The Segmentation AWB capability further enhances the image's realism by applying different processing to various portions of the image.
