Google has altered the Pixel 8 Pro's look in several ways. The new Pixel design is more rounded and does away with the square edges of the Pixel 7 family from the previous year. The 8 Pro's camera sensor architecture is likewise novel, with cameras mounted under a single piece of glass as opposed to two.
The Pixel 8 Pro weighs 213 grams and has 162.6 x 76.5 x 8.7mm dimensions. It is designed around a 6.7-inch flat LTPO OLED display with a 3120 x 1440 pixels resolution and an adjustable refresh rate of 1 to 120 Hz. It offers protection from Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and a maximum brightness of 2,400 nits. A waterproof grade of IP68 is given to the flagship.
The new Tensor G3 chipset is housed within the Pixel 8 Pro, among other things. In addition to 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage in the US and 512GB internationally, the new 4nm CPU is available. The device's battery has been increased to 5,050mAh. Only 30W wired and 23W wireless charging are supported, though.
This time, Google has gone above and beyond in terms of software upgrades, offering the Pixel 8 Pro seven years of security updates and five major OS revisions. The device also has WiFi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, and NFC, the newest in connectivity possibilities. You also get a Titan M2 security chip built in, along with a free VPN from Google One.
The Pixel 8 Pro now boasts a 50MP primary camera, a 48MP ultrawide lens with enhanced focus, a 48MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom, and other upgraded cameras. A 10.5MP camera for selfies is on the rear.
The starting price for the Pixel 8 Pro is $999 in the US and Rs. 93,999 in India. Pre-orders for the smartphone will be accepted starting today, and a free Pixel Watch 2 will be included. It will be available in the colors Sky Blue, Porcelain, and Obsidian Black.
