iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus Unveiled With 48MP Camera, USB-C, and A16 Bionic Chip
Apple has presented its yearly Wonderlust fall event. The Cupertino-based tech giant has launched the new Watch Series, iPhones, and other products as usual. The newest flagship iPhone 15 models provide major improvements over its predecessors, particularly the iPhone 11, which made its debut in 2019. Apple has once again set the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus apart from the Pro and Pro Max models. The new non-professional iPhone 15 models have additional features and characteristics, unlike the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus, which were similar to their predecessors.
iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus Specifications
The display and battery are the only components that distinguish the iPhone 15 from the 15 Plus. Both still have the same boxy shape and button positions as earlier iPhone models. The square camera module is now, however, slightly elevated from the rear panel.
The most recent non-pro iPhone 15 models include a frosted glass rear panel, which was previously only available on Pro versions, in contrast to earlier generations of iPhones. The phones have Dynamic Island on the front fascia, which was first seen on the iPhone 14 Pro variations last year. The 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch Retina XDR OLED screens on the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus, respectively, boast 2,000 nits of peak brightness.
The primary cameras of the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus have been enhanced in terms of optics. In comparison to the iPhone 14, it boasts a 48MP Sony sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2x telephoto lens. The front of the device has a 12MP selfie camera. New camera functions are included in the most recent models as well. Since machine learning will automatically add depth when a subject is spotted, users won't need to convert to portrait mode.
The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus are powered by the A16 Bionic technology used in Apple's Pro versions from the previous year. This performance gain is greatly appreciated because the iPhone 14 pair used the same processor as the iPhone 13. The most recent variants include 6GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage. Apple has not announced the exact battery sizes for the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, even though they are expected to provide 26 and 20 hours of usage, respectively.
The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus come pre-installed with iOS 17 on a software level. Instead of the traditional lightning port, they have a USB-C port. A second-generation Ultrawide-band chip that enhances Find My capabilities is also included in the most recent pair. Additionally, Roadside Assistance features are added to the Emergency SOS via satellite capability.
Pricing, Color, and Availability Date
The colors Pink, Green, White, Black, Yellow, and Blue are available for the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. The starting pricing for the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus is the same as that of its predecessors, which is $799 and $899, respectively. Both phones will be offered beginning on September 22.
