iPhone 16 Pro Max's telephoto lens could outperform Galaxy S23 Ultra's.
Apple appears to be preparing for a massive upgrade cycle in the photography department. With this upgraded camera sensor at the back, the iPhone 16 Pro Max from 2024 may outperform premium Android handsets, according to a recent leak.
The information was posted on the Chinese microblogging website Weibo by the well-known tipper Digital Chat Station. According to him, the iPhone 16 Pro Max will have an Ultra Telephoto lens, also known as a Super Telephoto lens. This sensor stands out because of its 300mm long focal length. If this rumor is accurate, it surpasses the 230mm telephoto lens on the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra.
Unbeknownst to some, the flagship phone of the South Korean corporation has up to 10x optical zoom. In other words, the Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max will probably compete favorably with the future premium Samsung devices.
This suggests that the 2024 iPhones could include a significant improvement above the reported 6x optical zoom that the iPhone 15 Pro Max's telephoto sensor will deliver in the next model.
The news is also consistent with our earlier story, which mentioned that the iPhone 16 Pro series would have bigger displays and a new camera system.
This camera has a Sony 1/1.14-inch sensor, according to the tip. Additionally, it's been said that Apple is still assessing how this camera improvement would affect the supply chain. Given that it uses a 7-piece lens system, a large focal length could make the sensor heavier. it will provide superior magnification and images at greater distances.
