iPhone 16 Pro Sneak Peek: Subtle Alterations in Design
The launch of the iPhone 16 series may still be a while off, but MacRumors has given us a glimpse with render images based on prototypes of the iPhone 16 Pro (code-named Diablo) and the iPhone 16 Pro Max (code-named Lightning). Surprisingly, both devices appear quite similar to their predecessors, but notable changes include larger screen diagonals and the introduction of a capacitive Capture button, strategically placed on the right side just below the power button.
Anticipated specifications for the iPhone 16 Pro suggest a 6.27-inch screen diagonal, with preliminary dimensions of 149.6 x 71.45 x 8.25mm and an expected weight of 194 grams. On the other hand, the 16 Pro Max is projected to feature a 6.85-inch screen, measuring approximately 163 x 77.58 x 8.25mm and weighing around 225 grams. Noteworthy camera upgrades are in the works, with both models set to receive enhanced 48MP ultrawide cameras. The smaller 16 Pro will also be equipped with a 5x tetraprism zoom lens.
Adding a touch of excitement to the hardware is the introduction of the Capture button, a standout feature on both devices. Rumored to include a force sensor, this button will seamlessly blend with the phone’s frame. Exclusive to the Pro models, the Capture button is set to serve as a shortcut for the camera app. Interestingly, its placement will necessitate Apple's relocation of the US-exclusive mmWave antenna to the left side.
