iPhone 17 Pro Max to Boast 48MP Periscope Telephoto Camera
Just a few months have passed since the release of the iPhone 15 models, and a ton of iPhone 16 speculations have already surfaced. However, even those reports are being surpassed today because of the iPhone 17 Pro Max. Indeed, seventeen. the one that debuts in autumn 2025.
Jeff Pu, an analyst covering Apple supply chain businesses, claims that this model will include a 48 MP telephoto camera that is tailored for usage with the forthcoming Vision Pro headset. Unfortunately, he doesn't elaborate on that optimization. For what it's worth, starting with iOS 17.2, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max can capture spatial video with 3D depth for viewing on the Vision Pro.
Given that the iPhone 15 Pro currently sports a 48 MP primary camera and that the iPhone 16 Pro is anticipated to include a 48 MP ultrawide camera, the iPhone 17 Pro/Max may be the first in Apple history to include three 48 MP rear cameras.
You should, of course, take all of this with a grain of salt since, well, we are nearly two years ahead of schedule. Even if Apple is now intending to carry out all of the above, a lot may happen in such a lengthy period. Plans are always subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances.
