Leaked images and specs emerge for Nothing Phone (2a) test unit

The company's next release, the Nothing Phone (2a), is expected to be released soon based on reports. This is indicated by the most recent official teaser. All of this information regarding the device's design is still somewhat unknown, though. A fresh report indicates that the phone would sport a three-glyph style on its back, setting it apart from previous Nothing versions and that it will run on a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 CPU.

We now have a brand-new leak that includes a few images of a gadget in the wild. We are examining a PVT unit, or "Production Validation Test," a small initial production batch designed to confirm and validate that the devices fulfill all necessary specifications and quality requirements and that the manufacturing procedures are operating as intended. Such early units are usually found inside a big exterior container designed to conceal their design, which is precisely what is happening in this instance.

Nevertheless, unlike any other Nothing Phone, the horizontal camera configuration on the rear is easily visible. Assume the reliability of the remaining information obtained from the source. Then, the Nothing Phone (2a) will include the previously stated Dimensity 7200 processor, along with a 6.7-inch, 120Hz OLED display, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage (other memory options may be available).

Along with a 16MP selfie camera, there appear to be two 50MP back cameras, similar to the Nothing Phone 2. It looks like Android 14 and Nothing OS 2.5 are pre-installed on the phone. It is important to note that the phone's About screen incorrectly states that the battery capacity is 1,000 mAh, thus it is important to consider some of this information with caution.

However, the insider also says that a $400 MSRP Nothing Phone (2a) will be unveiled at MWC in February 2024.
