MediaTek Dimensity 8300: Budget-Friendly SOC Set to Arrive Next Week
MediaTek is preparing to release the Dimensity 8300, a more reasonably priced SoC, after the release of its flagship Dimensity 9300 chipset. It has been announced that the forthcoming chip will launch on Tuesday, November 21 at 3 PM Beijing time (7 AM UTC) and that Weibo will livestream the presentation of the chip.
China reports indicate that the 8300 could use a 1+3+4 architecture and ARMv9 cores but with somewhat lower clock rates and core counts than the Dimensity 9300. According to rumors, there will be a Cortex-X3 prime core running at 2.8GHz, 3 Cortex-A715 performance cores running at 2.4GHz, and 4 Cortex-A510 efficiency cores running at 1.6GHz.
The Mali G52 MC6 is anticipated to handle the GPU side, humming at 850MHz clock. TSMC's N4P4nm technology will probably be used to fabricate Dimensity 8300.
