MediaTek Unveils Dimensity 9300 Chipset with All-Big Core CPU and Ray Tracing GPU
Last month, Qualcomm debuted its flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. The main opponent of the American chipmaker, MediaTek, has now revealed its chipset. The Dimensity 9200 / 9200+ has been replaced by the Dimensity 9300. It comes with a ton of updates and modifications. The CPU is anticipated to power high-end cell phones made by several companies. Let's examine the Dimensity 9300's technical details.
On the third-generation 4nm process from TSMC, the Dimensity 9300 is built. One Cortex-X4 core running at 3.25 GHz, three Cortex-X4 cores running at 2.85 GHz, and four Cortex-A720 cores running at 2.0 GHz make up the arrangement. It is claimed that there would be improvements of 15% and 40% in single-core and multi-core performance, respectively. The chipset boasts an Immortalis-G720 GPU, which is said to provide 46% better hardware ray tracing performance than the previous iteration.
A hardware-based ray tracing engine and variable rate rendering technique are supported by the Dimensity 9300. To provide an immersive visual experience, MediaTek says that it has collaborated with game developers to enhance ray tracing in games. For AI processing capability, the CPU also features an APU 790.
Both 4K at 120Hz and WQHD at 180Hz may be supported by the Dimensity 9300 display resolution. The CPU can handle up to 320MP camera sensors in terms of photography. Moreover, it will enable continuous HDR video recording in cinematic mode at 30 frames per second and up to 4K quality at 60 frames per second. Imagiq 900 ISPs are available. It's also said that Android 14's Ultra HDR format would be supported by the Dimensity 9300. LPDDR5T RAM and UFS 4 storage technologies are supported by the CPU in terms of hardware.
For improved long-range connectivity, the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 has integrated Xtra Range Technology and WiFi-7. In addition, it supports Bluetooth 5.4, 5G, 4x4 MIMO, sub-6GHz, and mmWave.
