WhatsApp, one of the biggest cross-platform messaging and voice service is adding QR code support to it’s messaging app on both ios and Android beta as comfirm by WABetaInfo. currently, it’s available for only users who have already signed up for the WhatsApp beta testing program on any of the platforms.
WhatsApp initially rolled out the QR code support for ios beta users through server side activation first, but now Android users are inline too with a beta update for it’s testers. both platforms have the same implementation of the feature, pratically you can discover your personal QR Code by visiting WhatsApp Settings page. If you find a QR Code like the one below, the feature is available for you!
If u can find your QR code in your settings page, congrats, you can now share it with new friends so they can easily add you up on WhatsApp. It is important to remember that whenever you share your QR code, you’re also sharing your mobile number.
butyou don’t have to worry if it gets shared to the public or gets into the wrong hands, you can revoke it immediately unlimited number of times, anytime without restrictions and a new code will be generated immediately! Isn’t that awesome!
Whenever you share your QR code, the receiving party can scan the code by using the scan code tab just in their own QR code page.
This was captured on WhatsApp beta v2.20.171 for Android users and WhatsApp beta v220.127.116.11 for ios users. if you are on the latest version and you still don’t have the future yet, don’t worry, it will get to you, it’s also server side roll out.
