Oppo A38 Tipped to Launch in September, Could Be Affordable Flagship Killer

Oppo is working on a new entry-level smartphone called the Oppo A38. The brand plans to launch this device soon in the global market as it has already picked up TDRA, SIRIM, NBTC, and GCF certifications. Now, a new report from Appuals has revealed the renders, specs, and pricing of the device.

The 6.56-inch LCD screen on the upcoming OPPO A38 boasts a resolution of 1612 x 720 pixels. It has HD+ graphics, a refresh rate of 90 Hz, and supports 16.7 million colors. The MediaTek Helio G80 CPU powers this device's 4GB of RAM and massive 128GB of internal storage. It runs the Android 13 operating system with OPPO's ColorOS 13 skin on top.

Two rear cameras are available on the A38: a 50MP primary camera with an f/1.8 lens and a 2MP secondary camera with an f/2.4 shutter speed. A 5MP front-facing camera with an f/2.2 lens is provided for taking selfies and making video calls. The tablet is powered by a big 5000mAh battery that may last the entire day, and a USB-C port is utilized for charging and data transfer.

The IP54 classification for water and dust protection is included on the A38, which has a plastic body design. Along with twin Nano-SIM card slots, a microSD card slot for expanded storage, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for secure unlocking, and the retention of the 3.5mm headphone port are features of the A38. NFC, Bluetooth 5.3, and Wi-Fi 5 are available as connectivity choices. To provide precise positioning and navigational capabilities, it also supports several location services, including QZSS, AGPS, GLONASS, GPS, Beidou, and Galileo.

For the European market, the 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage OPPO A38 cost EUR 159. Black and Gold are the two color choices for this smartphone. It is slated to launch in Europe next month and will arrive in India and many other Asian countries shortly after.
