Pixel Watch 3 May Go Bigger, Pixel Buds 2 in Progress
Apple and Samsung present consumers with a range of options when it comes to smartwatch sizes, catering to varying preferences. However, potential buyers eyeing Google’s Pixel Watch may feel disappointed, as the device has historically been offered in only one size. Reports from earlier this year hinted at a potential resolution to this limitation in the next-generation Pixel Watch. Now, insiders familiar with the matter, as revealed by 9to5Google, shed light on the anticipated size variants of the upcoming Pixel Watch 3, alongside details about the Pixel Buds Pro 2.
Samsung's Galaxy Watch 6 and 6 Classic boast sizes ranging from 40mm to 47mm, while Apple's Watch Series 9 offers options of 41mm and 45mm. This diverse selection allows consumers to select the size that best suits their wrist. However, both generations of the Pixel Watch have maintained a uniform 41mm diameter, rendering them relatively petite, particularly for individuals with larger wrists.
According to the report, the Pixel Watch 3 is expected to introduce a larger variant, possibly featuring a 45mm dial size. This expansion in size would offer a notable difference in appearance and functionality for users. It's speculated that alongside retaining the current 41mm model, Google might introduce the 45mm variant, which could potentially accommodate a larger battery, additional sensors, and an expanded display.
In addition to insights on the Pixel Watch 3, the publication also discloses ongoing developments regarding the Pixel Buds Pro 2. Although the precise nomenclature of these true wireless earphones remains unclear, they are presumed to serve as a successor to the Pixel Buds Pro, first launched in 2022. Google typically adheres to a two-year release cycle for its true wireless earphones, suggesting a plausible debut of the Buds Pro 2 sometime this year.
