Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 Vs. Dimensity 7025
The Midrange segment is seeing a bunch of new SoCs being released for the year 2024. Two of these new SoCs are the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 and the Dimensity 7025. Which SoC is the better one?
The Midrange market is the place where decent performance meets affordability. This is why the Midrange segment is very popular amongst smartphone users. In this article, we'll look at two of the latest SoCs to see which one's best for you. This is the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 vs Dimensity 7025.
The Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 is a Midrange SoC from the American chipmaker, Qualcomm. It was announced in June of 2024 and it is a reworked Snapdragon 695. It is yet to be featured on any smartphones due to its relatively recent entry into the market.
The MediaTek Dimensity 7025 is also a Midrange SoC but it is from Taiwanese chipmaker, MediaTek. MediaTek is Qualcomm’s great rival in the market. It was announced in April of 2024. It can be found on the Motorola Moto G64.

Performance of the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 Vs. Dimensity 7025
The performance of an SoC refers to how well it will deal with apps, tasks, games, etc. It also refers to how smoothly the phone would run and how well the user experience will be. A good SoC should ensure that you enjoy a seamless experience with a smartphone.
Both the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 and the Dimensity 7025 are Midrange SoCs with a similar microarchitecture and performance. They both utilize 2 Cortex A78 CPU cores for high performance and 6 Cortex A55 CPUs for battery efficiency. The main difference between these two is that the Cortex A78 CPU cores on the Dimensity 7025 are clocked at 2.5GHz which is faster than those of the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 (2.3GHz).
What this means is that the Dimensity 7025 should be slightly more powerful than the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3. This is corroborated by benchmark tests such as GeekBench where the Dimensity 7025 is 7% faster than the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3. In truth, this should count for much as Snapdragon SoCs are more optimized for Android apps, tasks, and games.
Gaming on the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 Vs. Dimensity 7025
Mobile gaming is now a very big deal and a lot of people expect their smartphones to play games and handle graphics competently. For games and other graphical tasks, the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 is armed with the now aging Adreno 619 GPU whilst the Dimensity 7025 has to make do with the even much older IMG BXM-8-256.
The Adreno 619 on the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 is better than the IMG BXM-8-256 on the Dimensity 7025. On AnTuTu v10, the Adreno 619 scores 102,291 whilst the IMG BXM-8-256 scores 63,224. This means that the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 will handle games and other graphics better than the Dimensity 7025.
Memory and storage
Memory (RAM) and storage are important because all of your files are kept in the storage. When the CPU and GPU want to process apps and games, it goes to fetch app and game files from the storage and keep them in the memory (RAM). Good support for RAM and Storage will help the SoC function very well.
The Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 supports LPDDR4X (2133MHz) RAM and UFS 2.2 storage whilst the Dimensity 7025 supports a much better LPDDR5 (3200MHz) RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. This means that the Dimensity 7025 should multitask better, move smoother, and lag less than the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3.
Photography and Videography
Smartphones are now media hubs capable of capturing photos and videos. The Dimensity 7025 holds the upper hand here as it supports cameras of up to 200MP and can record/playback 2K videos at 30fps. The Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 on the other only has a modest 108MP of camera support and can record/playback 1080p videos at 60fps.
The Dimensity 7025 has a huge advantage in camera support but then again, it'll be up to the smartphone OEM to choose the type of cameras to use. Most OEMs would stick with 108MP cameras which should be expected at this level. Aside from this salient point, both SoCs are pretty much tied in this department.
Connectivity
The two SoCs on offer here are both 4G (LTE Cat 18) and 5G capable and they support WiFi 5. This is where the similarities end. The Dimensity 7025 supports faster 5G download speeds and a much newer Bluetooth 5.3. The Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 on the other supports slightly slower 5G download speeds and an older Bluetooth 5.2. The points for this one go to the Dimensity 7025.
Possible battery life
Both SoCs should post a similar battery consumption and heating as they are both built on a 6nm TSMC process. There is the argument to be made that the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 should go easier on the battery and heat less, due to the better optimization than Qualcomm SoCs enjoy.
Conclusion
Having gone through the spec sheet and benchmarks, this Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 vs Dimensity 7025 comparison is a solid tie. The Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 has an advantage when it comes to performance and gaming as it has a better GPU. The Dimensity 7025 on the other hand offers better multitasking, storage, and slightly faster network connectivity.
In the end, the choice of which SoC you want should be down to your needs. Regular users should go for the Dimensity 7025, whilst gamers should go for the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3.
