At first, leaked information on the Dimensity 9300 indicated a 10% speed increase over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. But now that the much-awaited Dimensity 9400 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 are in the limelight, the earlier processors are no longer relevant.

A vigilant user on a Vietnamese forum unearthed benchmark results for both processors from Geekbench 6.1 and AnTuTu 10. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 maintains superiority in single-core performance but trails in the multi-core Geekbench test, a trend reminiscent of the 2023 chipsets.

Compared to the current Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Dimensity 9300, the upcoming chips showcase substantial performance enhancements – assuming the leaked results hold. The reported improvements hover around 50%, raising eyebrows when considering typical generational upgrades.

While skepticism lingers, Digital Chat Station has dropped a hint that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 could reach 4.0GHz on its prime core, surpassing the 3.4GHz limit of its predecessor, the 8 Gen 3. The Apple A17 Pro is also expected to come close with a clock speed of 3.78GHz.
