Spotify Rolls Out Miniplayer for Mac and Windows
Spotify has rolled out a new feature, dubbed Miniplayer, for both macOS and Windows platforms, exclusively available to Spotify Premium subscribers.
As the name suggests, the Mini player aims to provide users with streamlined control over their music and podcasts, minimizing disruptions. Now, tasks such as skipping tracks, adjusting volume, or changing Repeat mode can be swiftly executed without toggling back to the main Spotify window.
The Miniplayer offers versatility in its design, with options to shape it into a square, rectangle, or a sleek bar. Catering to both music and podcast enthusiasts, Spotify emphasizes its ability to deliver a balanced experience, accommodating video content seamlessly. For video podcasts, the Miniplayer adopts a picture-in-picture mode with adjustable controls, allowing users to resize the video player as desired.
Navigating back to the main Spotify app is effortless – clicking on the artist name, song title, or album art seamlessly transitions users to the main interface. Positioned in the bottom right corner of the Spotify desktop app, between volume and full-screen controls, the Miniplayer remains readily accessible.
One of its key advantages is its ability to float over other applications, ensuring minimal disruption to users' workflow. Importantly, opening or closing the Miniplayer doesn't interrupt the listening experience, as it functions independently of the main Spotify window.
The introduction of the Miniplayer underscores Spotify's commitment to enhancing user experience by offering intuitive features that integrate seamlessly into daily routines.
