Since the Tecno Phantom X  hit the market a few days ago, there has been a mixed reaction of excitement and disappointment among its users.

One of the reasons for these backlashes is the Price of the phone.

Of course, It is not that people don’t like to spend money on premium stuff, but no one wants to waste their hard-earned cash on trash, the so-called premium phone must worth every dime spent on it.

But, Is Tecno Phantom X just another old phone in a new wrap or does it really have special features that justify its alleged humongous price?

Perhaps, maybe the critics are asking too much from Tecno, or probably confusing it for a more luxury brand like Samsung and Apple.

Either way, they say half-full cup and half-empty one depends on who is looking at them.

Without further ado, Let get inside Tecno Phantom X

Price

The phone is priced at $456 approximately NGN 228,000 which according to most users is a little overpriced especially when you compare a much cheaper Redmi Note 10s which has similar specifications and the same chipset.

Key Features Analysis

Processor

Tecno Phantom X features Mediatek Helio G95processor  which is not a bad chipset, but why holding back if you want to fully go premium? Mediatek Helio G95 is a little below extraordinary in my opinion.

I was actually expecting a snapdragon 870 or perhaps, a  Mediatek dimension 1000 which has a better processing speed, and would have probably justified the premium tag given to it.

Furthermore, another reason users have been critical about the new Tecno Phantom X is that it doesn’t support 5G. Although this is understandable given that 5G network is not prevalent in Tecno typical market which is majorly Africa.

Writer’s Note

Tecno Phantom X is pretty much of an upgrade from its predecessor Phantom 9, it will be harsh and unfair to say it’s an old phone in a new wrap, on the other hand, it would have been a killer if it had come with a better processor than MediaTek helio G95.

Also, this writer feels the price is on the high side compared to what it offers.

As for your buying decision, only you can make it using all the analysis provided in this post as a yardstick.

Thanks a lot for sticking around.
