The New iOS 17 Update Revealed by Apple: What's New with FaceTime, Widgets, and More
The latest iOS 17 update from Apple adds several helpful features to the iPhone. To begin with, the Phone app introduces Live Voicemail, which displays text transcriptions of voicemails as they arrive, and allows you to customize Contact Posters for incoming calls. A unified Stickers app has been added to the Messages app, providing new methods to let others know when you've arrived there securely. The Maps app has also received upgrades for offline map functionality and electric car navigation. More natural language inquiries are now understood by Siri. A new State of Mind feature in the Health app lets you monitor your emotional health. Other enhancements to accessibility and privacy settings are also included in the release.

The commercial releases of iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 are now accessible to download starting today on compatible devices after a full summer of beta releases. The 2018 iPhone Xs and iPhone XR generations are now the starting point for iOS 17. This year's notable exclusions include the iPhone X and iPhone 8 series since support for iOS 16 has ended.
