Moving on to the design and build quality
The phone is made of plastic at the back, and it has a cool finish with a hexagon texture all over the back of the phone. It prevents the phone from being slippery in the hand, it also prevents fingerprint stains on the phone. we have here the Atlantic blue color and it shines depending on how the light hits it. Other color options include sunbeam gold and reef gray.
There are two cameras at the back housed in a black module with a flashlight beside it. We also have the UMIDIGI branding on the bottom left side of the phone. It charges through a USB C port, we also have a microphone for calls and a down-firing speaker at the bottom. The speaker is quite decent, it has the headphone jack at the top, and also a second tiny microphone for calls. The power button is just by the right side, and it has the volume rockers above it. They are fantastic to press. On the left, there is a Sim card and SD card tray slot.
What are some of the features of the Umigidi power 7s?
The Umidigi power 7s supports dual 4G sim cards, it also works with all the global LTE bands. There is a remappable button on the left side that can be used to easily access apps and other features of the phone. If clicked once — will turn on the flashlight by default. Overall the phone is fantastic to hold in the hand. It is lightweight despite having a 6150mAh battery. The phone lacks a fingerprint scanner, and I feel we should have gotten a cheap physical fingerprint scanner instead of the quick access button on the phone. but then you're left with a face unlock option which is not as secure as the fingerprint ones.
The display is 6.7", it is big enough to enjoy watching movies, and playing games. It is an IPS LCD display with a 720p resolution. It is responsive to touch. White colors appear perfectly on the display. It also contrasts and is sharp enough when streaming videos on YouTube. The chin and bezels are noticeable, but we can’t complain especially since it’s a 100-dollar device. You can also adjust the color and contrast of the device in the settings which is something not common on other phones with LCD displays. You can also turn on dark mode in the settings if you are into that. Under direct sunlight, it's decent — do not forget to have auto brightness on because the display can get dim quick outdoor. The display is very okay and I enjoyed using it.
The Umigidi power 7s runs on stock Android 11, there are no bloatwares or unwanted apps on the phone which is something we mostly find on devices within its price category. The interface kinda looks old, especially with the icons on the quick menu. One thing — there are a lot of customizations you can do on the phone. There are system navigation and gesture controls that you can toggle and use. I love how snappy and responsive the UI is, the android skin feels lightweight. there's still room for improvement on the overall UI.

Is the Umigidi power 7s powerful?
Performance is handled by the Unisoc T310 chipset which is not popular, but during our time with this device, it was just fine. Most of the people we expect to get this phone are not excessive users. The phone isn’t targeted at gamers but rather casual users. For basic tasks like scrolling through social media, making calls, texting, and all it is very okay. In fact, I love how snappy it opens up apps the moment I click them. I also played games like Alto's odyssey — it won’t run demanding games for sure like COD and Need for speed effectively. Overall the performance is decent for a phone its price.
The battery is one of the finest part of this device, it is only hindered by the lack of optimization from the software or chipset I guess. It can last a whole 10hrs under intensive usage from our tests. The 6150mah battery is excellent and can easily go two days for casual users. Charging the phone takes at least 2 and half hours from zero to a hundred. The battery life is exceptional for the huge battery and poor chip.
How good is the Umigidi power 7s camera?
it has a 16MP main camera and an 8MP ultra-wide lens at the back. The camera is okay in well-lit conditions, buts it’s clear that the phone is not focused on the camera, there's no portrait mode in the camera viewfinder. Up front, it has an 8MP selfie camera. images from the Umidigi power 7s look too sharp and overly exposed, its cameras can only perform well in lit environments to produce a lovable decent looking photo
