WhatsApp Beta Users Get Self-Deleting Voice Messages

WhatsApp has added a new self-destructing audio messaging function to its iOS and Android beta apps. Users can use this functionality to send audio messages that vanish once the receiver has listened to them.

The capability was discovered by WABetaInfo, who discovered that some WhatsApp Beta users can send self-destruct audio messages. Select testers may now access it on WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.21.15 and 2.23.22.4, as well as WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.21.1.73.

The functionality functions similarly to the current "View Once" option for images and videos, which was released in 2021. This implies that the receiver will be unable to save or forward your audio message.

Users can send a self-destructing audio message by tapping the "1" button adjacent to the transmit button. This will activate the audio message's "View Once" option. After the receiver has played the message, it will be removed from their conversation.

The self-destructing audio message function is a great addition for users who wish to transmit private information that they do not want to be preserved or shared by others, but it is not yet clear when WhatsApp will make it available to the general public.
