Xiaomi 14 Ultra Rumored to Pack Under-Display Camera
As the global release of the Xiaomi 14 series hangs in suspense, recent reports hint at the potential addition of another smartphone to the lineup — the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. This device has garnered attention after being spotted in hands-on images.
According to a new update from GSMChina, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra might introduce an under-display camera, presenting users with two variants: one featuring the innovative under-display camera and another equipped with a standard selfie camera.
The version sporting the standard camera bears the codenames "aurora" and "aurora pro," while the under-display camera model goes by the name "Xiaomi Suiren." Intriguingly, a device with this moniker recently surfaced on the Geekbench database, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor.
Initially thought to be the upcoming Xiaomi Mix 5, recent information suggests that this device is, in fact, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. Impressively, it achieved a score of 2336 and 6837 points in the single-core and multi-core tests, respectively.
Corroborating previous leaks by tipster Digital Chat Station, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is rumored to house a 50MP main sensor (Sony LYT 900 with OIS) featuring a variable aperture. Complementing this main sensor, the phone is expected to boast a 50MP telephoto lens, another 50MP periscope lens, and a 50MP ultra-wide lens.
Leaked details also point towards a potential upgrade with a titanium frame for the 14 Ultra, replacing the aluminum used in the regular 14 Pro. Additional speculation hints at features like two-way satellite communication, while the device may pack a robust 5180mAh battery supporting 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
If the grapevine is to be believed, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is anticipated to make its debut alongside the Xiaomi Pad 7 series in April 2024.
