Xiaomi debuted the 14 series, as anticipated, with the recently revealed Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, redesigned Leica-branded primary cameras, a fresh look, and Xiaomi's new HyperOS.

Let's get straight on to the Xiaomi 14, a respectable entry to the oversaturated small flagship market. Although the Xiaomi 13 from the previous year already featured a flat-sided frame and more angular edges, it still has the new symmetrical appearance of the Pro.

At 152.8 mm in length, 71.5 mm in width, and 8.20 mm in thickness, the Xiaomi 14 and its predecessor are nearly exact replicas of one another's dimensions. There are two variants of the new phone available: a glass 193 g model and a lightweight nano-leather 188 g one.

It's still a 6.36-inch diagonal panel, but at 120 Hz refresh rate and 3,000 nits of maximum brightness, it's a great 1200x2670 px LTPO OLED screen.

Although the cameras on the smaller 14 and the 14 Pro seem to be the same, there are a few minor variations. The lens on top is a fixed-aperture 23 mm f/1.6 unit, but the 1/1.31" "Light Hunter" sensor with 1.2 μm pixels is the same as the one found in the 50MP main camera. Though the 50 MP 14 mm ultrawide appears to be devoid of autofocus (AF) and hence macro capabilities, it is similar to the 75 mm floating telephoto.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 CPU powers the Xiaomi 14, which has 256 GB, 512 GB, or 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage in addition to 8 GB, 12 GB, or 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM. The 4,610 mAh battery may be charged at 90 W wired and 50 W wireless rates.

Pre-orders for the Xiaomi 14 are now open. The 8/256GB model is priced at CNY 3,999 (€520, INR 45,800), the 12/256GB model is priced at CNY 4,299 (€560, INR 49,000), the 16/512GB model is priced at CNY 4,599 (€600, INR 52,300), and the top-of-the-line 16GB/1TB model costs CNY 4,999 (€700, INR 57,200).
